ISLE OF WIGHT
MESMERIZED A softening sound of the see as the tide began to come back in towards cliffs that were a pure form of nature. My eyes and my soul became completely taken in to what was around me, captivated by the movement of light rain clouds as they drifted right over where I was standing. To put a pure mesmerising touch to the moment; the great constellation of Orion even managed to find a break in the clouds to oversee this thought captivating scene. Luccombe Bay, Isle of Wight, UK.
WHISPERING UNDER THE STARS The tide was calmy coming back in on this night; the gentle sounds as if the waves were whispering with the sandy beachfront. Further adding to the peacefulness; the stars continued to softly twinkle all above me, as the magic of this moment along the beach I temporarily had all to myself. Even the great Orion seemed to find solitude as if he too was overlooking and becoming part of the tranquillity along Shanklin beach this night before the tide came fully back in. Shanklin, Isle of Wight, UK,
GLISTENING UNDER MOON LIGHT A moment when everything just seemed to line up so nicely, creating such a pleasing balance to the scene. The low moon directly above the wave breaker that has seen the change of tide countless times, yet it still stands proudly. As the tide started to come back in, the glistening moonlight reflection further drew my eye in to the marker of the wave breaker; appearing it was reaching for the moon itself. Shanklin, Isle of Wight, UK.
MOMENTARILY ABSORBED When I found myself feeling as if I had the beach temporarily to myself to enjoy and be grateful for; I almost felt like part of landscape myself. Completely surrounded by a motion of natural elements, just how breathtaking the forces of nature can appear when you stop to properly take it all in. Luccombe Bay, Isle of Wight, UK.
MOMENTARILY ENTRANCED Everything just seemed to fall into place at the right time of this temporary moment as the tide continued to come back in. Captivated and mesmerised by the stunning twinkles of the stars, such a reminder how our planet is such a small piece of a bigger jigsaw. Shanklin, Isle of Wight, UK.
DIVINE This wonderful historic church was such a breathtaking building to see and experience under the stars as it marked the start of a night walk; a truly tranquil self-adventure under a star lit sky. St Blasius Church, Shanklin, Isle of Wight
TEST OF TIME Amazing just how powerful the forces of nature can be. Seeing this weathered wave breaker against the incoming tide, on what had been a windy and unsettled night was a reminder of just some of the elements it has faced since it was constructed. Despite everything it has been and continues to go through; it stood as if proudly looking out to sea and reaching for the night sky. Shanklin, Isle of Wight, UK,
ECHOES OF RESILIENCE The weathered characteristics of the cliffs and scattered rocks just seemed to be sitting so proudly under the forces of nature during the low tide on this night. Orion, despite the broken clouds, seemed to shine through proudly as if protecting the landscape himself. On a personal note; this also became a personal achievement for me. I can’t drive due to my medical background so making it to this location on my own, just me and the camera became a reminder that pursuing my passion for the landscape and photography was worth going through the pain for. The beauty of nature can mean so much to people. Luccombe Bay, Isle of Wight, UK.
NOCTURNAL SERENITY It truly felt like I was temporarily in another world; completely absorbed by the calming and soft movement along with the sounds of the sea. And as I stood with all my troubles of life left behind; the amazing twinkles of the stars just made all my issues seem irrelevant, as I was completely absorbed and part of this deeply soothing landscape under a star lit sky. Shanklin, Isle of Wight, UK.
ORION OVER LUCCOMBE BAY ON MOONLIT NIGHT The tide was temporarily fully out exposing a path that is not always walkable, allowing a brief encounter of looking back at the ancient coastline rocks as they stood boldly under the stars, Luccombe Bay, Isle of Wight, UK.
STAND ALONE PROUDLY There will always be times when something can only be truly done alone, a goal to achieve, task to tackle, a storm to see through or a glimmer of light to reach for. As this weathered tide breaker appeared to be reaching for the stars as the tide was going out and the clouds had broken up, standing alone proudly. Shanklin, Isle of Wight, UK.
ORION OVER SHANKLIN CLIFF The amazing tales of the great Orion constellation; a bold huntsman with great strength, and what better view could he have on this night over looking the cliffs with true character as the tide crept back in. Shanklin, Isle of Wight, UK.
TEMPORAL GUIDANCE Rocks that only shortly show themselves at low tide, appearing like a temporary path leading to the openness of the sea. As I stood and followed the rocks with my eyes only to also notice that clouds had allowed the rising Orion constellation and planets to be clearly seen; the sheer intriguing vastness of our universe as everything seemed to temporarily line up Infront of me. Shanklin, Isle of Wight, UK,
SOOTHING ISOLATION Upon a steep south facing hill looking out to sea; an isolated tree stood proudly at peace under the vastness of the winers star lit sky. Undoubtedly a tree that has already been through storms and persistent strong winds, even gales; yet still this tree calmly appeared to be sitting in such a breath taking and tranquil location that even managed to make my own life stresses, worries and fears quieten down. Ventnor Downs, Isle of Wight, UK.
TEMPORARILY EMERGED A night when I deeply felt and was reminded about the ongoing motion of nature. Rain clouds constantly drifting across the sky; sometimes feeling the fresh drops of rain landing on me – sometimes not a drop at all. Under the dense blanket of clouds; the tide was slowly going out appearing in a different direction to the sky. As I was surrounded by the motion of natural cycles; small scattered rocks sitting peacefully amongst all that was going on around them seemed to quietly and elegantly show themselves. Shanklin, Isle of Wight, UK,
TO INFINITY In our life on this planet; each personal goal, desired destination; each dream or ambition eventually comes to an end; whether we reach it or not. The joy can be found along the journeys we choose to take through life. But when we stop to look beyond our planet, beyond the solar system; we are constantly reminded of the mystical uncertainty of what else is really out there and just how far it goes? Shanklin, Isle of Wight, UK,
THE TIDE HAS TURNED Our planet, nature; shall always be in a constant state of movement and change. Times when natural energy can appear and feel so soft, delicate and gentle; where it can even be hard to notice at a quick glance. Other times when nature can seem as if it has just energetically and uncontrollably awoken in so many different ways. A night of strong winds and rain along the coastline; yet it felt refreshing being out experiencing it. There was also something deeply soothing as the sound of crashing waves continued to surge further up the beachfront during the incoming tide. Shanklin, Isle of Wight, UK,
TEMPORAL MAGIC ISOLATION A beach that can only be temporarily accessed at low tide; so left purely down to the natural elements and un-altered by humans. Everything just felt so calming on this night, waves declined smoothly to the sound of a gentle swash under the vast blanket of glistening stars. These tranquil emotions just seemed to completely captivate my body and soul as I felt so free. It reminded me how enjoying such short moments of solitude can have this magical way of staying with you so strongly and for so long after you actually experienced the moment. Luccombe Bay, Isle of Wight, UK.
MOONGLADE It was a moment when my eyes and spirit felt so invited into the softening and vast web of dreams within the night sky as the tide began to come back in. Shanklin, Isle of Wight, UK.
ORION RISES Brave enough to venture as far as I could go on the rocks that led out to sea during low tide. How such uplifting and magical moments become so brief yet emotionally so powerful. During this moment I felt greeted by the greatest Hunter; Orion. Shanklin, Isle of Wight, UK.
STARS OVER LUCCOMBE BAY Was amazed by just how small I felt; in fact, just how small our whole planet felt as I gazed up all the stars on this night. All the sudden; things that I felt so overwhelmed and upset about in my own circumstances in life became very irrelevant as I was reminded just how much of a miracle it is to experience this life, on this planet, in this solar system, in this galaxy during this very moment. We are after all just a tiny part of a grand jigsaw puzzle in space and time. Luccombe Bay, Isle of Wight, UK.
HORSE LEDGE PATH TO ORION As the tide went out, I ventured as far as I could go before I could go no further. Just as in life; all paths do eventually come to an end; yet it was the journey itself that was enjoyable and so meaningful. In this case; how positively thought-provoking as I watched the great Orion Constellation rise at the end this little adventure. Shanklin, Isle of Wight, UK.
TRAVELLING SOLO As I ventured out on my own with the camera; my mind was deeply caught by this moment as I waited for the tide to go out. Sometimes there will be moments in life where we must travel or tackle it on our own. Deep within our heart we know it is a journey we must take; a light we must chase amongst the darkness of uncertainty. Life can so often challenge us in most unpredictable of ways. Yet as I have learnt, and I’m sure many others too; we often tend to learn so much about ourself, about life, when we see the storm through. We must calmy ride the waves we encounter along the way. Shanklin, Isle of Wight, UK,
ECHOES FROM THE PAST Remains of a World War 2 bunker under the vastness of a star lit sky; how little reminders of our past seem to remind us how it shall always echo throughout time. Ventnor Downs, Isle of Wight, UK.
