ART aND PHOTOGRAPHY
When Art and Photography techniques are merged or intertwined to create the finished piece……
The Building Blocks of Nature... Art meets photography, simple drawn 3d cubes by hand used to merge 3 of my woodland photos; time in nature has always been my source to finding appreciation in life. Nature will always be the key building blocks to life - an important wall to life.
Bee Worlds... I have always admired and appreciated bees; such important insects too! They deserve their own world in my opinion; especially considering how hard they work! A pure beauty of nature. My own photo, photographed under a sheet of glass with water droplets placed on top of it. It has not been edited to look like this; this is how it really appeared.
Drops of the Rainbow... Rainbows are wonderful to see; symbols of good fortune, hope and beauty. Appearing in multiple forms and sizes; good moments and happy memories experienced through life. This photo for me brings such joyful and positive feelings with it. Art work that compliments the use of photography. My own art work, photographed under a sheet of glass with water droplets placed on top of it. It has not been edited to look like this; this is how it really appeared.
Recycled Fungi#2#... Such simple yet unique forms of fungi; fuelled by such intriguing processes amongst nature. I created a collage using recycled materials in the form of fungi. Photographed and layered over my own photo from my walks in the woods.
Thrive In Autumn... Autumn is a wonderful time of year. Beautiful warm and vibrant colours as leaves begin to change as I look up and around the tree canopy, and when I stop to look closely down upon the ground; many different fungi types grow. Various natural forms and colours, so sculptural and unique in appearance. I created a collage using recycled materials in the form of fungi. Photographed and layered over my own photo from my walks in the woods.
Follow the Light... Following towards light at the end of the path; This reminds me and makes me think when we look back before following our next found path.... our next stage of a journey - an adventure in life. Merging my art pictures of the fox (fine line pen and watercolour pencils); photographed and layered on to a photo taken at Strawberry Grove woods.
Feel Welcomed... I can’t help but feel as if these two foxes are looking back as they start their journey to another area in the woodlands; are they just exploring or are they searching for a new home? Despite that; they appear to look back so softly and very welcoming. Merging my art pictures of the fox (fine line pen and watercolour pencils); photographed and layered on to a photo taken at the Chantries woods.
Cubed... Cubes appear as if they are interacting with the spheres; what is initially one cubed wall is broken down into multiple sections, maybe even their own little worlds? My own art work, photographed under a sheet of glass with water droplets placed on top of it. It has not been edited to look like this; this is how it really appeared.
Cubed B&W... Simplicity as what appears as building blocks form in their own little bubbles; their own little worlds. Cubes interact with the spheres. My own art work, photographed under a sheet of glass with water droplets placed on top of it, processed in Black and White. It has not been edited to look like this; this is how it really appeared.
A Drop of Vibrancy... The power of colour and how it can create so much visual and inner energy. Just like life itself; the outcomes of this work can be hard to predict, but that actually brings a sense of excitement to it. My own art work photographed under glass dish of water and oil droplets on the surface. It has not been edited to look like this; this is how it really appeared.
Around the Rainbow... Rainbows can seem as peace and beauty after times (weather) of grey and chaos; hope, good fortune and positive emotions that a rainbow can symbolise. Outcomes of this approach are reminders of beauty that can be found in the unknown sometimes. My own art work photographed under glass dish of water and oil droplets on the surface. It has not been edited to look like this; this is how it really appeared.
Earths primary recyclers... Fungi play such a vital role in nature. Such small and intriguing shapes, forms and colour; natures quiet presence of energy always occurring in the landscape. I created a collage using offcuts of wall paper in the form of fungi. Photographed and layered over my own photo from my walks in the woods.
Energetic... This photo brings such vibrant energy with it; multiplying and replaying the wonderful impact of bold colours from the single piece of art work under the surface. My own art work photographed under glass dish of water and oil droplets on the surface. It has not been edited to look like this; this is how it really appeared.
Fungi Form... Fungi itself is full of energy not visible to the eye; fuelled by its surroundings and a balance in the ecosystem. Bringing offcuts of wall and textured paper to create a unique natural form in the shape of fungi. When displayed in such a natural setting it brings a whole new sense of visual energy and purpose to the collage. I created a collage using offcuts of wall paper in the form of fungi. Photographed and layered over my own photo from my walks in the woods.
Gone Fishing... Using a photo I took whilst fishing Frensham Big Pond with my older brother at dawn, rods out in the water, Layered 2 of my king fisher pen and watercolour art work over the top. And just like me; showing peace and patience whilst waiting for a bite.
Recycled Fungi... Just as Fungi itself feeds off the decomposing materials around it; I created a collage of fungi by using recycled materials I had at home. On its own; work seemed isolated and frozen. Layered over my photo from the woods; they come to life with a real sense of where the forms truly belong. I created a collage using recycled materials in the form of fungi. Photographed and layered over my own photo from my walks in the woods.
Standing Quietly... Not all fungi appear in visually striking colour; yet the invisible power of its natural process is still so important. I created a collage using offcuts of wall paper in the form of fungi. Photographed and layered over my own photo from my walks in the woods.
Surreal by Form... When creating this work; I was unable to predict what the outcomes would look like, what shapes and patterns would be formed. Sometimes the results of the unknow can be fascinating to see. My own art work photographed under glass dish of water and oil droplets on the surface. It has not been edited to look like this; this is how it really appeared.
Zig Zag A simple pattern of colour created by Lego bricks; set up under a glass sheet with water droplets placed upon it.
