An amazing old sweet chestnut tree stands with such charming character on a hill top amongst the woods. By working from my own photo; I was constantly looking and truly captured by the fine details this tree has. It held such a unique character and full of quiet energy.

This uphill curving tree with such unique character felt as if it was reaching out to me; inviting me to enjoy, explore and be part of this wonderful woodland as I ventured up the hill.

I’m not sure what the story was behind the tree; yet on its outer shell it still had an intriguing, soft and warming feeling to it with such unique character.

I was intrigued and captivated by the character and sense of changing directions on this old sweet chestnut tree. There was a quiet sense of energy and motion about it, as if the unnoticeable power of nature had temporary froze the tree whilst dancing around on the spot.

Connect deep enough to a place and you can begin to see captivation in the most unobvious of things. The decaying remains of this tree still full of energy in itself as it breaks down and feeds the area around it. The lines on the tree stump portraying age, movement and the unique character of trees themselves.
